Her name was Jamie Tapley. She was my second grade teacher, my role model, and aside from my mother, she was the kindest woman I knew. Miss Tapley had never encouraged her second graders to pursue the field of teaching, but what she unknowingly did was plant in my heart a passion to serve others. From just her lifestyle, I saw that helping and serving others is a rewarding and unexplainable feeling. Miss Tapley was my inspiration.
The special moments in my life that helped me realize teaching was the career I wanted to pursue, was the summer before my freshman year of high school. In Summer 2005, I volunteered my entire break to teach students how to play the piano. As the lessons advanced, my love for teaching continued to grow whilst teaching my twelve eager pianists. I was not concerned with the amount of time and effort I had put into such an event that I was not getting paid for. From then on, I knew teaching was my life's calling because I didn't consider myself working but more of having fun! I love the energy and excitement that children have to offer, especially when it comes to learning about new things.

I believe that every student is
                             capable of learning as long
as they are connecting to                                  what is being presented or                                taught. It is up to the teacher                              to create that connection!
I am a future educator and I                              want to inspire children, the                                same way Miss Tapley has                                  inspired me.
